The PC's find a tarot card card:
- Where do they find it?
- In a small desk?
- Old trunk?
- Lying on their chest when they awake?
- Does just one character find a card or do they each find a card?
- What does the card mean?
- How do the PC's determine its meaning?
- Is one them skilled in this area?
- Do they have to go on a quest to find a particular person to interpret it?
- Was it of significance to its previous owner or to the PC's or to someone the PC's have yet to meet?
- Is it of relevance to the past, present, or the future?
The PC's find a trail of cards. Each one provides a clue to the location of the next.
- What do they find at the final location?
- A treasure?
- A person?
- A grave?
- A door?
- An ancient artifact?
The PC's meet a fortune teller at the bazaar in a new town. One of players gets a card reading. Manually choose cards that fit the character's past and present situations. Choose a future card that leads into your next planned adventure.
The cards are material components for spell casting purposes. Each card has a different spell associated with it.
Each card has a non-spell magic power associated with it.
One of the players learns how to use the cards for divination purposes.
